A Gathering of Forces

Adam and Ester arrived in Toronto on Friday! Ester is the Maid of Honour, and Adam is the Bridesman. The wedding party is now complete! It was nice to see Adam again, who we last saw in Japan.

They came a week early in order to join us for the Bachelor(ette) party! That's right, a stag and doe.

We all met Adam at the airport bringing with us a balloon with "Welcome Home" on it and a sign that read: "The Motherf**kn' Mentalist!" (why?) He was suitably impressed.

We went out to dinner, hitting our old university bar of choice, Ein-Stein, followed by New Ho King.
Here's my finacee's fortune cookie fortune from New Ho.
Stop procrastinating - starting tomorrow? Seriously? Was that a joke, or just unfortunate. Maybe I'll post it to failblog.

UPDATE: And I have.

Wedding Photography

Almost one week left till our wedding day! I now provide more insider information.

Our wedding photos are being done by a friend Megan, who is a professional photographer. If you're looking for a photographer yourself, you can visit her website www.triebephotography.ca, where she has samples and also a blog with her work.

We decided that we'd like to have a photo with a large border that our guests can sign rather than the traditional signing book, so we met with her at High Park a few weeks ago to take some photos for the signing board. She did a fantastic job and they turned out really well. Here are the two we're trying to decide between:
We're thinking the single picture, just because it seems to fill the frame we have better, but we also really like the board with the three photos on the side. Ah! The choices!

Thanks Megan!

Where No Wedding Has Gone Before

Well, the post title probably isn't true. There are a lot of geeks out there. But anyhow, I reveal here, our wedding cake topper:

That's right. Star Trek wedding cake topper! Would you believe that it wasn't even my idea? My fiancee's. She's awesome. She's not a huge Star Trek fan, but quite enjoyed watching it with me over the past couple of years. Worf is her favourite character, so that's her. I went with data, more by process of elimination of who I wouldn't be.

Anyhow, it's on a light-up rotating base which we bought at Michaels. The base was just simple plastic with a couple of LEDs sitting on the top, so it needed a bit of work. She put on the trim, added the blue filter top, attached the figures, and prepared Worf's veil and bouquet. Where would our wedding be without her crafty skills?

It will be truly awesome at the wedding!

Album Name?

Another meeting band name!

Drone From Sector X
This line seriously came out in one of my tech meetings this week. It was awesome. Though, I'm wondering if it's better for an album name than a band name.
