Wednesday - Us: Meeting Family

On Wednesday we split up. My fiancee and I went to meet her grandparents, who she hasn't seen since she was 2. They live a few hours drive east of Seoul, towards the east coast of Korea. Her fake aunt gave us a ride. We mostly slept in the car. I felt bad for her aunt not having conversation, but she can't really speak English anyhow, so there wasn't much to be done.

Fake Aunt

We got to her grandparents house and sat, ate, and chatted for a while. By chatted, I mean her fake aunt and grandparents chatted and would ask us questions, which my fiancee would mostly understand and communicate back to them the answers as best she could. Her grandparents are old, 90, so we didn't stay for very long.

After, we went to a nearby cave and walked through it. It was quite large, but we were told there were even larger ones that take hours to tour not too far away.

We had lunch, then drove along the coast and saw a few sights before heading back to Seoul.

When we reached the city, we gave the others a call, who were hanging out with some of my fiancee's friends for the day, and found they were out for dinner and drinks. It was our intention to meet up with them, but fake aunt insisted on driving us back rather than the subway, through rush hour, making the trip across Seoul almost 2 hours. We were pretty tired, and it was already late, so we decided to stay in for the night.
